Colleen is a jewellery designer based in Noordhoek, South Africa.
She works primarily with textiles and beads.
Since qualifying in Graphic Design she has worked as an illustrator, painter, printmaker and performance artist.
In 2010 she was selected to take part in the 8th International Printmaking Biennale in Belgium.
She has exhibited at AVA Cape Town (painting and printmaking), and was represented by the South African Print Gallery until she stopped printmaking in 2014.
During 2015 she began working as a street performance artist which she found to be a satisfying way of engaging directly with a wonderfully diverse audience. Her performance “Every Six Seconds” was also performed at The Gallery at Cavalli Estate in Stellenbosch.
Creating jewellery has been a natural progression and in 2016 lead to the creation of African Baroque Textile Jewelry – statement jewellery made from textiles and beads fusing African and European cultures. Colleen’s creations are bought globally as adornments and as artworks in their own right.
Colleen holds a National Diploma in Graphic Design from Cape University of Technology.
