You Make Me do too Much Labour (Ladies in Red series)

In my series "Ladies in Red," created for the exhibition "Unleashed Feminine Rage," I explore the complex layers of feminism, gender-based violence (GBV), and the personal experiences of inner rage from stories of women around me. This body of work is both a tribute and a manifesto, a visual cry against the pervasive injustices faced by women and a celebration of their unyielding strength and agency.

My artwork integrates elements of AI, Photoshop, and collage techniques. Many are different reincarnations I see myself in from different eras.

The color red, a dominant theme in my series, symbolizes both the violence inflicted upon women and their enduring power. Red is also the symbol for danger and warning even if the colour always been associated with the ideas of femininity and love. It is a visceral reminder of the bloodshed and pain, but also of passion, love, and defiance. Through each piece, I aim to capture the multifaceted nature of feminine rage—raw, unfiltered, and unapologetic.

This series also imagines a utopian fantasy where women are free from the shackles of gender-based violence and oppression. In this envisioned world, women thrive in an environment of equality, respect, and safety. It is a realm where their voices are not only heard but revered, and their bodies are sacred, not battlegrounds.

Through "Ladies in Red," I invite viewers to engage with these themes deeply and personally. I hope to spark conversations about the urgent need for societal change and to inspire a collective vision of a future where every woman can live free from fear and full of potential.
