Summer is for the living.

I hate winter. I would love to say I don’t do winter but winter does me. It is harsh, relentless and inhumane. I am terrified of it.

This body of work touches on the seasons of the soul. It is a timid effort to remind both myself and the viewer that nothing lasts forever. Spring and summer will arrive. (For what it is worth, put a stick-it on your fridge door).

There is a narrative running through the 5 works:

Taking on the Beast depicts the onset of the winter, the fight for survival when depression takes hold of you. I am a fighter and winner, but never equal to the challenge.

Next comes Waiting. Just waiting for the season to take its course.

Winter loses interest in you. A calm warmth starts filtering through the fog; there is colour, above! Knock-Knock, let me in; it is cold outside.

The Season of Refreshing is mentoring my soul to find new pathways and connections to living. I am so grateful.

Summer is here!! I am Hot – Very Hot. Need I say more?

There is a chilly breeze in the air…
