Colour gathers, collides and disperses across the painted surface of the shape of collision. A purple-pink concentration emerges within a field of blue, orange and grey; marks converge, dissolve and re-form without settling into a single image. The painting holds movement in suspension, allowing forces to become visible without fixing their outcome.
My painting is an independent site of research, where gesture, intuition and material change allow colour and movement to develop on their own terms. Encountered alongside loose ends, the painting does not illustrate the weave or translate it into another medium. It opens a parallel field of investigation: where the weave gathers and catches, the painting spreads and disperses.
Working at different speeds and through different material processes, the two works alter how we perceive one another without losing their independence.
