Sunny Night

This artwork is inspired by Vincent van Gogh’s The Starry Night, but I have reinterpreted its mood through my own use of colour and subject matter. The deep blues and navy tones create a sense of darkness, sadness and emotional struggle. In contrast, the yellow elements introduce warmth, optimism and happiness. By portraying myself wearing sunglasses and a bright yellow sun hat, I become part of this contrast. The yellow seems to break through the darker colours, suggesting light and positivity emerging from difficult emotions.
