Sun Seeker

My linocut Sun Seeker explores the theme of fauna and flora through the image of a wolf surrounded by plants. I chose the wolf because I like the way wolves are connected to nature and can represent both power and peace.

The wolf is facing towards the light, which inspired the title, Sun Seeker. To me, this suggests a sense of hope, strength and looking towards something positive.

I used different lines and shapes to create the wolf and the surrounding plants, while the strong black and white contrast helps the wolf stand out. I  wanted to create my own composition while still capturing the feeling of being connected to nature.

I enjoyed seeing my original idea develop through the carving and printing process. I am proud of the final artwork and how the contrast between light and dark gives the wolf a strong presence.
