“Summer effigy” is a “self canceling” depiction of the personification of summer, it has a human face but the message is the exact opposite. The work shows summer as a face, golden and yellow rays emanate outwards around the face, but the face is somber, uncaring, expressionless,  almost a funeral mask. Summer, And seasons may be something which people enjoy or prefer , but when we reason out as to why we will find very human reasons, and that specific seasons are enjoyed due to a specific type of life led or geographic location where certain seasons may be milder or more easily appreciated. Romanticizing winter must be easy for someone comfortably dressed in front of a fire as opposed to a homeless person, who must probably detest the coming of winter ?

The same can be said of summer, sitting on a beach, by choice, enjoying the sunshine must be quite a contrast to someone in a different climate where summer might mean food and water scarcity, or someone stranded out at sea. The point I am trying to convey is that… Summer doesn't care whether you prefer it or not, they are not a person or a spirit or something to be chosen, it is a fact, an anomaly, a happening. We as humans give them these attributes etc. But the preference of seasons or climate or temperature is due largely to circumstance.  And if the time ever comes that we find ourselves at the mercy of this global / planetary cycle that is the seasons, we might realize there is no mercy at all, and we are very small beings indeed.
