Soundless Growth

Artist statement

The intention for this body of work is to feel like you are entering a forest where everything is growing and flourishing. The titles of the work allude to the way plants grow when left alone, quietly and vigorously to create a delightful abundance, seemingly chaotic, but in perfect balance.

The painting process involves energetic mark making and layering, mimicking the undomesticated growth of plants and the creation of natural worlds, which are constantly destroyed by human activity.

The underlying message of the work is about the need to support natural environments and appreciate the intelligence of plants to heal and recover.
