SILHOUETTE

"Silhouette" explores the interplay of light and shadow, delving into the relationship between language, culture, and personal identity. My artwork examines the impact of Western hegemony on African culture, highlighting how cultural norms shape and sometimes limit us. Through my work, I seek to find the delicate balance between embracing heritage and exploring individuality. Themes of fluidity and fragility are central, symbolised by the transient nature of a bubble and shadow, reflecting the ever-changing and delicate aspects of identity and cultural interaction.
