Seizure, I Wanted You To Go Away Forever, So I Took Almost All My Toplep

Seizure, I wanted you to go away forever, so I took almost all my Toplep

Late in 2023 I attempted suicide with an overdose of epilepsy medication named Toplep. Research consistently shows that individuals with epilepsy are at a higher risk of suicide compared to the general population. Several studies have indicated that the suicide rate among people with epilepsy can be up to five times higher than that of the general population. This elevated risk is influenced by a multitude of factors, including the type and frequency of seizures, the presence of comorbid psychiatric disorders, and the social stigma associated with epilepsy. The nature of the seizures themselves can also contribute to the risk. Certain types of epilepsy, such as temporal lobe epilepsy which I suffer from, are more strongly associated with psychiatric symptoms and suicidal behaviour. The unpredictability and severity of seizures can lead to feelings of helplessness and despair, exacerbating suicidal tendencies.
