Plain Paper Pilot

Inspired by one of Matisse’s dancing figures, my sculpture version portrays the same feeling of freedom and joy as the figures in the original painting; Dance by Matisse. The paper jet, made from a sheet metal, is a metaphor for the ‘fantasy of flight’ as this figure invites the viewer to come and fly with him/her.
