Threads, beads and fragments of material accumulate into a suspended structure, dense in some places and open in others. Knots and loops interrupt the coloured sections; exposed warp and loose ends extend beyond the woven surface. The structure holds, but never settles into a single, resolved form.
Through weaving, I think materially and spatially about how things are held together and what happens when they come under pressure. Working in Johannesburg, where structures are continually adapted, abandoned and repurposed, I have come to recognise instability not as an exception, but rather as a condition. Loose Ends asks what other configurations might become possible when connection does not depend on complete resolution.
