Artist Statement :
As i find a way to learn to be an adult, i carry you as you carried me around your neck. It was only vivid when i was a child, but clearity withers as i grow so i remain with the feeling. You manifest yourself into presence, especially when my motion drifts to the underworld, so close, yet too far to reach. I watch you settle as my mind slips to purgatory. Withdrawals aren’t so costly when nearing for-closure.
Sometimes I wonder if I dig your evocation while you lay at rest. I hardly see it coming, It will take more than chemotherapy, because not even the cancer sign could catch those cues.
You make it easy to suffer your presence. But i refuse to inhibit your growth, unlike like the tumor that divided you. You left your son a boy, so he must bear your memory to raise him into a man.
