My work explores the destructive weight of unrequited love and the quiet process of reclaiming oneself from obsession. It visualizes the agonizing realization of pouring endless time, emotion, and resources into a "prize" that was never winnable —a fixation that silently bottles up until the weight breaks you down. Through colour pencils, oil pastels and collaging, I created a narrative that captures this cycle of exhausting devotion and eventual collapse, before growing into a person I want to exist peacefully and not controlled by an emotion. The obsession shrinks from a consuming storm into a quiet whisper of the person I once idolised.
