Kraal Dance

Across African cultures a kraal forms part of most rural communities. It is mainly used to herd livestock, but It can also refer to a collection of family huts built around the animal enclosure. This space can equally and conveniently be used as a gathering space for social activities. This circle shaped artwork amplifies this gathering place where traditional dancing, wearing of masks, handmade jewelry and traditional attire, all contribute to these festivities.
