I'm A Blackstar

In this exhibition of David Bowie (David Robert Jones) beautiful photos of the latest NASA Artemis mission to the moon were hard to resist, so I incorporated it with my own photos. David Bowie was a great musician, artist, songwriter, singer and actor. His work is so multi-layered. In my artwork for the exhibition Bowie’s alter ego Ziggy Stardust is incorporated and intertwined with concepts and personas in his final album Blackstar. The story I tell started in Covid times when thoughts of death smothered us, wrapped in burial cloth like Bowie’s Lazarus in his final moments. Death or entrapment is not the final frontier as there is an escape with the astronaut, a saviour, that can leave, transcend and return. “ I’m a Black Star “ is there to be talked about and a riddle by “the chameleon of rock” not really to be solved…
