Artist Statement

My artistic practice is driven by a profound curiosity about the human experience and a desire to explore the evolving landscapes of modern society. Grounded in personal reflection and introspection, my work delves into the private thoughts, memories, and emotional landscapes. I create imagined spaces that invite the viewer to pause, reflect, and engage with the profoundly relatable themes of the human condition. The surrealistic landscapes I depict function as liminal spaces, inviting the viewer to embark on a surrealistic journey of contemplation and self-reflection. These imaginative settings provide a counterpoint to the challenges of the present, evoking a sense of nostalgia and longing for the security of the past, while also containing the potential for growth, understanding, and new beginnings. Ultimately, my artistic practice is an exploration of the universal human experience – the tension between individual and collective, the desire for meaning and connection, and the perpetual negotiation between familiarity and the unknown.
