Frankie

Inspired by Loeritha Saayman, Dalmation pup:

I chose this piece of jewellery depicting a Dalmatian puppy because I have always found nature's own ‘decoration' of animals fascinating. Equally intriguing is the human psychological tendency to attribute human-like personalities and characteristics to our pets. My German Short-haired Pointer, Frankie, provides a perfect example. As a puppy, he had striking blue-grey eyes, prompting his breeder to name him after Frank Sinatra. As he matured, his eyes turned amber, and his personality gradually evolved into that of a prince. He sleeps exclusively indoors, preferably on a soft rug, cushion, or blanket. He favours luxury treats such as biltong over ordinary dog food. Around other dogs he behaves with regal composure and quiet diplomacy, never deigning to growl or fight. And, naturally, my husband treats him exactly as one would expect a prince to be treated.
