Fascia

People are more connected than what society has conditioned us to think. The duality of human interconnection in terms of biological nature and nurtured influences can reveal how psychologically people are interlinked.
Fascia is a strong, thin web of connective tissue that wraps around and through every muscle, bone, organ, nerve, and blood vessel in your body. It gives your body shape, reduces friction when you move, and acts like an internal support system.
The one side of the canvas forms the literal representation of human beings juxtaposed against the other side of the canvas which is the anatomical side view of human internal structures that show although outer appearances are different at the root, people are biologically the same and more interconnected than what we realize. The forms on both sides of the canvases stand emerged between fauna that create interwoven and repeating patterns that evoke movement to represent how people traverse throughout life and rely on those patterns to form stability within their lives.
The structural gypsum base that holds everything in place, like fascia, it allows the work to be viewed from many angles, it also represents the dependence that people have on their environments as without the support the 2 canvases cannot stand on their own right.
The mixed media painting represents how people have surface level characteristics that are individualised but beyond that we have our own psyches. The work encourages to look beyond visual perceptions to rather evaluate how intrinsically we share the same genetic make-up.
