Earth's Hidden Archive

Artist’s statement – Rocks and Fossils as nature’s archives.

Rocks and fossils act as natural archives, preserving traces of the past while reflecting the Earth’s constant transformation. The paired jewellery that first inspired this work serves a similar purpose: a personal archive carrying memories, stories and emotional significance across generations. Through studies of rock, fossil and mineral formations, along with weathered surfaces, my artworks explore preservation, change, memory and discovery. They also reflect on the connection between ancient ammonite fossils and living organisms, suggesting that, even after millions of years, the Earth continues to hold and quietly reveal its stories.
