Statement
My work for this exhibition emerged through intuition—an unspoken dialogue between memory, sensation and the subconscious. Working in oil paint with a collage-like approach, I created layered compositions that draw from multiple threads of experience: moments with family, conversations within friendships, and the quiet introspections that shape one’s understanding of self. The theme of “Weight” resonates with my practice, not only in its emotional and psychological dimensions but also in how the mind holds complexity—often silently. In these paintings, surrealist elements serve as a bridge between the visible and the intangible. Figures and fragmented forms coexist, echoing the multifaceted burdens we carry: the weight of identity, inherited roles, unspoken expectations, and the pursuit of inner clarity. Rather than offering a single narrative, my work invites viewers into a space of recognition—where the subconscious speaks, and connection is felt rather than defined. Each painting becomes a mirror, reflecting back the invisible tensions we all navigate. In this way, “Weight” becomes both a personal reckoning and a shared language.
