In celebrating Women's Month, A Dialogue of Senses inspired an exploration of what it means to celebrate womanhood. Jewellery becomes more than adornment; it is an expression of identity, memory, meaning and belonging. Through the act of adorning ourselves, beauty becomes something both seen and deeply felt.

At first encounter, Hesti Wade's 3D-printed cuff evoked a barrage of emotions and conflicting associations. Could it be a warning about an increasingly artificial world, where the authentic is slowly replaced by the manufactured? Has beauty become mass-produced and superficial—a quick fix that conceals its deeper meaning? In this reading, women risk becoming bound by society's narrow definitions of beauty, trapped by appearances rather than liberated by authenticity.

Yet the longer the piece is contemplated, the more another story begins to emerge.

Its form feels timeless. The cuff's elegant elliptical curves create flowing spirals, like the curves of a woman’s body, that appear to twist and move like a figure 8 weaving endlessly, embraced by a delicate silver cloak. The design recalls one of humanity's oldest forms of adornment, echoing cuffs worn by warriors, queens, artists and rebels across countless civilisations. It speaks of strength, identity and belonging.

Bold without being loud, elegant without being fragile, the cuff slips effortlessly onto the wrist—like confidence itself. There are no clasps or complications, only a quiet reminder of personal power, individuality and feminine resilience. 

Perhaps the dialogue lies precisely in these opposing interpretations. Is this cuff a symbol of a world becoming increasingly synthetic, or does it celebrate the enduring strength and timeless beauty of women? It invites the viewer to question their own perceptions and discover that meaning, like beauty itself, is never fixed but shaped by the senses through which we experience it.
