Artist Statement

Coming from the Cold is a sculptural meditation on emergence. Each sculpture depicts a figure progressively leaving the confines of a fractured skull, moving from unconscious existence toward awareness, freedom and self-realisation. The cold blue skull represents the frozen architecture of the old - self, memory, fear, limitation and mortality—while the bronze figure embodies warmth, consciousness and becoming.

Rooted in posthuman thought, ego death, spiritual awakening and personal growth, the series suggests that transformation begins when inherited identities dissolve. Across the five works the figure evolves from latent presence to complete emergence, inviting viewers to reflect on their own journey beyond survival toward authentic existence.
