Colleen Alborogh - Pants

This series explores how constricted and controlled women were in relation to the types of clothing they could wear. These works are found newspaper articles and images from the late 60s and early 70s in South Africa. I have added the stories of women’s’ fight for freedom to wear what they want. 


Colleen Alborough is a lecturer at the Art and Music Department, Unisa and a practicing artist. She lives in Johannesburg. Alborough is a multimedia artist using printmaking, animation, installations, physical computing and sound in her art productions.
