Claire Manicom - Steadfast fragility

This work is about the dichotomy of being an artist. The sculpture embodies what I believe an artist's strengths and insecurities to be. As artists, we objectify our subject matter in order to transform it into a representation of our innermost thoughts. By making ourselves vulnerable to the world, by exposing our hearts and chaotic thoughts, we make ourselves strong, holding steadfast to our fragile beliefs.
