I created this photograph to pay tribute to David Bowie’s legacy of transformation and self-creation. I used staged portraiture, dramatic lighting, and theatrical styling to echo the visual language Bowie made iconic in his Ziggy Stardust era.
I’m interested in how Bowie turned identity into a medium. He showed that you could shed one version of yourself and step into another without asking for permission. I work with the subject to build a look that feels both homage and personal reinterpretation — never an exact copy. Red light, sharp shadows, and the lightning bolt motif appear as visual quotes, but the emotional core comes from the person in front of the lens. For me, this project is about honoring Bowie by doing what he did best: using art to make space for reinvention.
