Bana Ba Letsatsi (Children of the sun)

This is an acrylic portrayal on canvas, I invite viewers into a world of innocence, hope, and boundless imagination. Two black children, depicted from a top view, gaze upward with eyes filled with wonder and anticipation. The viewer becomes the sun, illuminating their faces and casting a warm glow upon their features. Inspired by the simple joys of childhood and the timeless allure of the sky, clouds, and soaring birds, this piece captures a fleeting moment of pure, unadulterated awe. Watching my own siblings play outside, their eyes alight with curiosity and their spirits buoyed by the boundless expanse above, I am reminded of my own childhood reveries. "Children of the Sun" serves as a poignant reminder of the transformative power of imagination and the importance of retaining a sense of wonder amidst the complexities of adulthood. Through the gaze of these children, I hope to reignite a spark of nostalgia within viewers, transporting them back to a time when the world was brimming with endless possibilities and every glance skyward held the promise of adventure. As the sun's rays illuminate their faces, may we all be reminded of the beauty that lies within each of us and the boundless potential that awaits when we dare to dream with the unbridled optimism of childhood.
