Discarded materials gather around the copper rod in uneven concentrations. Threads knot and cross around pockets of colour; some areas thicken into unruly masses while others open to expose the warp and release loose ends. Density and openness press against one another, keeping the structure in motion.
For me, weaving is a way of thinking through how structures form and change under pressure. In accumulation / release, gathering and letting go are not opposites to be reconciled, but forces operating at once. The work holds not by settling into balance, but by keeping those forces in play.
