A Place Where Women Never Smil’d or Wept

For a woman managing bipolar disorder and epilepsy with medications, coming to terms with the inability to conceive, especially after enduring multiple miscarriages, is a deeply sorrowful and agonising experience. Each miscarriage represents not only a physical loss but also a shattered dream of motherhood, compounded by the complexities and risks her medical conditions pose during pregnancy. The decision to stop trying to conceive is a heartbreaking acknowledgment of her limitations, accompanied by profound grief, guilt, and a sense of loss for the children she may never have. The artwork demonstrates how I metaphorically get rid of the idea to conceive due to the hardship that might follow.
