Vutomi Fame Sithole

Vutomi Fame Sithole (b. 2004, Thembisa, Gauteng) is a Fine Artist and Printmaker currently practicing at the Artist Proof Studio. She holds a Diploma in Fine Arts from the Vaal University of Technology.

Her work explores the intimate relationship between people and their worn shoes, each pair carrying the weight of life’s journey. Within the Scapes framework, she considers the body as both traveller and landscape, tracing movement, memory, and the marks left by lived experience. Shoes, feet, and the act of walking become vessels to examine identity, vulnerability, and the tension between protection and exposure. Through scuffs, creases, and wear, her work reveals deeply personal narratives of struggle, resilience, and transformation.

Sithole has exhibited at the Bodutu Art Gallery at the Vaal University of Technology (2024), featured in Best of 2023, and participated in the Sundays Are Us pop-up exhibition in Limpopo. Her practice invites viewers to reflect on shared experiences, showing how even the most worn shoes can carry stories of human resilience, hope, and becoming.
