Oaheng Motsitsi

OAHENG MOTSITSI was born in 2001 in the capital of the Northern Cape, Upington. Born from a family that was constantly on the move she was raised across South Africa, however spent most of her teen life in Gauteng, Pretoria. Middle child of two brothers, from an early childhood fell into the grips of Visual Arts and to be propelled further into the art world by visual arts teacher Mrs. Gieselbach at Sutherland High School. At the age of 14 she had already decided on following through finding comfort in the room for unsaid emotions to be expressed without confrontation or limitation. Oaheng, having lived amongst diverse cultures and experiencing different lands had always intrigued her, and found that the portrayal of everyday life and untold stories of people interesting and the art produced by her aims to bring awareness to the overlooked in society. Her subject matter focuses on Genre and features conceptualism. Her intention with every work is to evoke authentic emotion from the viewer. Working as a multimedia artist she finds the most raw and uncut emotions are through charcoal, pastel and pencil to name a few. She is currently pursuing her degree in Bachelor of Visual Multimedia Arts at the University of South Africa. JUST LIKE OAHENG AH AHA BONONO BA HAE
