Lorelei Clerk (b. 1997) is a Johannesburg based artist
working the mediums of Pen and ink and watercolour. Her work explores the
impermanence and vulnerability of the human form and how it is molded by
circumstance and experience. Her studies in Psychology and Philosophy have
strongly influenced her view on the world and the fragility of those societal
constructs thought to be self evidently true. Her art serves as a vehicle to
explore experiences of gender transition and identity in a social context interspersed
with both support and hostility.
